Concert Band

Information:
Membership in the Vermilion Community Music Association’s Concert Band is open to any area adult musicians who play traditional concert band instruments. There are no fees, dues, or auditions of any kind for our large group. We basically ask only that all band members bring their own music stands to rehearsals and performances, brass players provide themselves appropriate mutes.

Rehearsals:
Thursday night is band night and it’s their night to shine, and shine they do! Our Concert Band has invented its very own special kind of music therapy. The band performs more often than our other large groups, and is the oldest and best known of the three groups. The band members are proud of this and never let the others forget that fact. This group has a motto: “You don’t quit playing because you get old. You get old because you quit playing!” Pretty good philosophy at that, wouldn’t you agree?
The Concert Band holds their rehearsals in Trinity Lutheran Church, located on Liberty Avenue. The church graciously allows use of their facilities by the VCMA.
